To celebrate our 4th birthday, Michelle hosted a crafty online tutorial to create mixed media postcard art along with give-aways (now closed), a challenge and blog link swaps, all thrown into one action packed tutorial!
Together we will review our favorite mixed media techniques and put them together to create postcards that we can share with our friends and family. Regardless of your current skill level or preferred style, you will come away inspired to get creating for the Holiday season, as well as “meeting” member of our Mixed Media community.

Why Postcard Art?
And WHY postcard art? you ask. We will play with many mixed media techniques that can be as simple, or as complex as you like. Regardless of your preferred style, you can create wonderful backgrounds that can then be turned into postcards, ATCs, bookmarks or greeting cards. We’ll look at postcards that are easy to make and easier to post to our global mixed media community.

Wow what a crazy few years…I had 8 corneal transplants (5.5 years of blindness) finally, the last two transplants were successful! Onwards was my journey into art! I missed being creative and seeing all those gorgeous colors! (I missed those Quins! Magenta being my favorite!) Mixed Media seem to be the easy choice because you can use any form of color or medium. Yes, I went nuts and vowed to make all my doctors and anonymous donor families something to say thanks! Thanks for the lovely class! I am dying to start my postcards so this will be short and sweet…Thanks so much for what you do! You have truly touched me!
Great inspirational tutorial! Loved covering flattened cereal boxes with Gesso last night. This morning, they’re dry and ready for painting fun. THANKS

Michelle, enjoyed the the webinar – my second with you! I need to clear a path in order to make some of the post cards, and I love your take on buying the best materials where it counts and making do with other items when you can.

I tried painting with a credit card in the wee small hours ….after watching the tutorial. I just did it teeny tiny on an index card, 5 by 3 ins. I liked the result and hope to do credit card painting on a larger piece of card soon. It really covers the area with paint so quickly.

I think I may have to look for a “gelli plate” as I love the effect. Thank you for showing the tute. I’ve dabbled a bit with mixed media and napkin art etc , I cant wait to make a few postcards now.
The biggest thing I’ve learned is if you never try it-you’ll never know if you like it!
What I’ve learned after many years of just work is that I am having fun again. I used to help support myself and daughter by selling handmade items in addition to a fulltime job, but as time went on I didn’t have time to enjoy arts/crafting. My daughter’s grown and I’m retired. You are all so amazing – and there are so many new products on the market that it’s overwhelming. It’s wonderful to have access to this site to learn about new techniques, products, and to see the incredible talent displayed. Thanks Michelle and to all who participate. I loved the postcard tutorial. Just getting started with mixed media. I have tried all the techniques, but didn’t know how to finish a project. This has helped me so much. I enjoy your news letter and all the tutorials on the site. Thanks so much for sharing!

I have learned that you can create beautiful projects with items almost exclusively found in your home!
of course could cut into other shapes, aahhaa moment, been trying to try ATC, well cut up the PCs I’ve tried
