Junk Journal Class with Michelle Logan is a fantastic class to get you started with creating your own journal, using the Scrap FX Junk Journal kits.

Do you have loads of papers, tags, envelopes and painty scraps sitting in your crafty space gathering dust? Well it’s time to learn how to put all those goodies to good use! Come join us as we make a unique Junk Journal using a Scrap FX Junk Journal Kit and any scraps you would like to bring along to add to the kit!

In this class you will have a ton of fun throwing paint around using stencils and stamps to transform a basic envelope into a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind cover for your junk journal.

You will walk away from the class inspired to play with all the wonderful pages collected within the journal, and eager to make some more using your own stash (we all know we have plenty).

No advance skill is required as we bind the journal with a simple pamphlet stitch that anyone can do, ….as long as you can tie a granny knot and throw paint around this class is for you!

The class is run at the light-filled Mixed Media Arts Studio, in Mt Waverley (see here for details) Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Schedule

Arrive and setup from 9:30am
Class starts at 10:00am

– Pack up and depart by 1:00pm

  • Basic craft kit (craft mat, craft knife, scissors, double sided tape)
  • Black and white paint marker
  • Ephemera to include into your junk journal
    [pretty papers, tags, envelopes, painty scraps etc.]
  • Lead pencil
  • Baby Wipes
  • White Gesso
  • Paint brushes
  • Paint palette
  • Palette Knife or old credit card
  • Awl
  • Large eyed darning needle
  • Black Stabillo All pencil or any water soluble crayon/pencil
  • Matt Gel Medium
  • Favourite paint colours
  • A selection of stencils for mark making
  • Heat tool
  • Apron or clothes to get painty

Michelle Logan is a mixed media artist, living in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne Australia with her family.

Michelle has always been creative and dabbled in many arts, crafts and photography, with a style she calls “Mixed Media Messy. She loves to mix it up, try new things and techniques, including scrapping, creating off the page projects, canvases and art journaling.
