The Mixed Media Art team held an online tutorial about Creating Layers. We shared some of the secrets in creating depth and richness in your mixed media artwork by working through these three canvases, as well as announcing our new book ~ “Creating Layers in Mixed Media Art” ~ your go-to guide to creating the texture and intrigue into the pieces you create.

Hi Michelle, Having a seminar in our Aussie day time is a great idea, and I’m looking forward to it, but for those of us who are temporally illiterate, can you translate the times please? I have no idea what PDT is, :-(, and I bet I’m not the only person on our side of the world trying to work that out! I haven’t been able to find anything on the website to tell me what the Australian times actually are, just morning or afternoon, and given that Daylight Saving is about to end I’m not game to try and calculate it. Cheers!
Hi Caroline – try the Time Zone Converter – http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc
PDT = United States Pacific Daylight-savings Time (ie Los Angeles)
(Add 3 hours for New York time)
CEST – Central European Summer Time (ie Paris)
AEST – Australian Eastern Standard Time (ie Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane – without Daylight Savings Time)
I have also added in Aussie times ~ hope that helps!
I will re-check the times after the weekend to make sure coming off Daylight Savings time has been allowed for.
Looking forward to your online video courses! I do add different textures to some of my paintings and am ready to learn more.
Thanks
Fascia
Will there be a recording of the session? I signed up for the time I will most likely be able to attend but as you know…life gets in the way sometimes.
Thank you for posting the Aussie days/times. I did manage to enrol in the right class for me, so see you there. Now I have no excuse for not setting up my webcam, lol! Cheers, Caroline
Hello Barbara – we will be recording the tutorial but I’m not sure how / when it will be available (there’s lots of technical stuff involved!)
Caroline – you won’t need a webcam, so if you don’t get it set up yo can still join in our Creating Layers tutorial.
Hi Michelle,
Thank you for offering this class…I am looking forward to attending it!!
I loved the webinar and learned from it. Thank you.
There were some hiccups in sound as you changed slides(pages). I don’t know what caused that or have any suggestions on how to avoid it. Maybe the folks at the webinar hosting site can provide a fix.
This class is awesome and I learned so much from it. Thank you Michelle!!
Thank you for posting this! My modem curled up its toes the day before the seminar, so now I can catch up!
I just wanted to say that I loved the online experience – my first! AND that I am now the proud owner of BELIEVE the middle canvas at the top of this page. I won it after the webinar! Thanks again Michelle
